Through intuitive work, Tyra moves between the figurative and abstract expression, the two often also overlaps. Tension conditions in the interaction between object and colour are often of great importance. Exploration of techniques and materials is a key part, and through the creative process unexpected qualities in the works arise.
In the exhibition Stygn Tyra’s characteristic drawings has taken shape through needle and thread. Embroidered works evokes a mood, perhaps a room, an existence. Graphic prints with a lot of blackness meet the low-key in the lines of the thin thread, and a couple of colourful gouache paintings look at it all from their place on the wall.
It is the soft fragile and the hard, the quiet and the dark.
Tyra von Zweigbergk (1973) is an artist and illustrator based in Stockholm. She is currently also working on a novel that will be published by Norstedt's publisher in the spring of 2023.
